An editorial style illustration about Italian food and cooking. An Italophile myself, this was very satisfying to work on. Watercolour, pencil and ink on board. Digitally coloured.
Carrots and Celery are an important ingredient in many common Italian sauces. I tend to use the blender on them for bolognaise style dinners. And I also like to add leaves—from our huge bay tree in the garden—to the hot water when I cook the pasta, with a bit of salt, but no olive oil (kind of pointless and a waste!).
